Axel’s path in immigration began when he witnessed firsthand the difficulties that Guatemalan nationals faced raising US citizen children in their country of origin. Having been born in New Orleans, Louisiana, but growing up in Guatemala for most of his childhood, Axel knew that he wanted to help others like his parents. It was through this desire to help other immigrant families that set him on the path to working at ILOHB. At ILOHB, Axel now works under the family department in charge of waivers and consular processing. He is passionate about helping people navigate the complexities of the immigration system and aspires to continue helping others through their immigration journey.
