Leyda NepoMuceno

Paralegal

My journey into immigration law began in high school, where I translated for individuals seeking Employment Authorization Documents at local churches. This experience exposed me to the challenges immigrants face and left a lasting impact. After earning a BA in Business and pursuing business management—launching my own candle business—I felt a strong desire to make a more meaningful impact. In 2019, I volunteered at the Orange County Superior Court, which deepened my interest in law and highlighted the prevalence of sexual crimes affecting immigrant women. This led me to focus on immigration law and humanitarian work. Seeking to gain more experience, I worked as a paralegal with various immigration attorneys, working with humanitarian cases. My background—from business to courtroom volunteering—has equipped me to approach immigration cases with empathy and practical problem-solving skills. I am currently preparing for the LSAT to pursue my goal of becoming a lawyer.
